publication cover

The European Protection Order (EPO) is a unique instrument of mutual recognition designed to protect individuals when they move to another Member Sate. The EPO is issued and executed by judicial authorities to address protection needs of individuals who already benefit from national protection measures.

This leaflet offers essential information on what the EPO is, how it works and the various protection measures that are available. It also includes a wealth of useful resources for practitioners.

The leaflet complements the joint report released by Eurojust and the European Institute for Gender Equality, which provides a more comprehensive set of information on this instrument and its application.
