The Lithuanian Desk is headed by Margarita Šniutytė-Daugėlienė, who is the National Member for Lithuania since August 2019.

In 2023, the Lithuanian Desk was involved in 335 new cases, 45 coordination meetings, 3 coordination centres, and 20 joint investigation teams.

Margarita Šniutytė-Daugėlienė

Ms Margarita Šniutytė-Daugėlienė is the National Member for Lithuania. Ms Šniutytė-Daugėlienė was elected Vice-President of Eurojust in June 2022. Ms Šniutytė-Daugėlienė began her legal career as a public prosecutor in the Regional Prosecutor’s Office of Klaipeda, where she worked for 13 years, dealing with international legal cooperation and analysis of prosecution policy, as well as conducting and supervising criminal investigations. In 2012, she was promoted to Chief Public Prosecutor of the 2nd Criminal Prosecution Division at the Regional Prosecutor’s Office of Klaipeda. In 2016, Ms Šniutytė-Daugėlienė was appointed Deputy Prosecutor General. In this capacity, she supervised international cooperation, training and protection of public interest activities, including the activities of the territorial prosecutor’s offices. During her professional career, Ms Šniutytė-Daugėlienė participated as an expert in a number of projects related to international cooperation matters and provided lectures on criminal law and international cooperation topics. Ms Šniutytė-Daugėlienė served as Contact Point for the European Judicial Network from 2011 to 2017.

Deputy National Member

Mr Tomas Krušna took up his duties as Deputy National Member for the Republic of Lithuania in April 2024. He is residing in Lithuania. Mr Krušna has twenty-five years of professional expertise in working for the prosecution service. In the course of professional career he has worked at different levels of national prosecution service and held the post of senior manager at the Prosecutor General’s Office for the span of nine years. In 2006 Mr Krušna was appointed as Lithuanian National Member at Eurojust and served as the Deputy National Member from 2011. Apart from Eurojust, he has working experience in such EU bodies as the European Commission and European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF). In 2020 Mr Krušna was appointed as the European Prosecutor on behalf of the Republic of Lithuania and joined the EPPO. After his EPPO mandate he re-joined national prosecution service in the end of 2023. It should also be noted that Mr Krušna has participated in the activities related to Lithuania’s accession to the EU and made valuable contribution to Lithuania’s EU Council Presidency activities in 2013 as well as during the process of Lithuania joining OECD.

Assistant to the National Member

Mr Irmantas Mikelionis took up his duties as Assistant to the National Member for Lithuania in 2022. He is residing in Lithuania. Mr Mikelionis has been working in Lithuanian Prosecution Service since 1991. He started his career as an interrogator followed up by his duties of senior interrogator, public prosecutor and head of structural units in Vilnius Region PPO and the Prosecutor General’s Office of Lithuania. Mr Mikelionis has specialised extensively in the field of prosecution of organised crime and corruption-related offences. In 2017-2019 he was seconded to Moldova as Resident Twinning Adviser in EU Twinning Anti-Corruption Project, and in 2020-2022 to Ukraine as Senior Adviser on Prosecutorial Management of EU Advisory Mission to Ukraine. Mr Mikelionis currently holds the post of Deputy Chief Prosecutor of Department for Organised Crime and Corruption Investigation at the Prosecutor General's Office of Lithuania.

Seconded National Expert

Mr Laurynas Butvidas, Seconded National Expert at Lithuanian Desk, joined Eurojust in May 2022. Before coming to Eurojust he served for almost twelve years as a prosecutor in Šiauliai Region PPO (Lithuania). Since May 2015 Mr Laurynas Butvidas is one of EJN contact points in Lithuania.
