On 21 and 22 September 2010, Eurojust, in co-operation with the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, will hold a strategic seminar, "Eurojust and the Lisbon Treaty: towards more effective action".
The seminar will be hosted by the Department of European Political and Administrative Studies at the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.
The goals of the seminar are to reflect on the development of Eurojust in light of the Lisbon Treaty and in particular the possibility provided for in Article 85 on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU) to adopt a new regulation for Eurojust, and the possible establishment of a European Public Prosecutor's Office from Eurojust under Article 86 TFEU.

- Mr Stefaan De Clerck, Justice Minister of Belgium
- Mr Johan Delmulle, Federal Prosecutor of Belgium
- Ms Françoise La Bail, Director General, DG for Justice, European Commission
- Ms Michèle Coninsx, Vice-President of Eurojust and National Member for Belgium
The seminar will combine presentations by experts in the field of judicial co-operation with in-depth workshop discussions focusing on reasons why better co-ordination and co-operation between the judicial authorities of the Member States and Eurojust is needed, and consider how the European Public Prosecutor's Office might be established "from Eurojust".
After the seminar, on 22 September at 14:00, a panel discussion will be led by Prof Jörg Monar, Professor at the College of Europe, Director of the Department of European Political and Administrative Studies .
