The Ambassador of Germany to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, H.E. Mr Dirk Brengelmann, paid a courtesy visit to Eurojust yesterday.
Ambassador Brengelmann met with the President of Eurojust, Ms Michèle Coninsx, and the National Member for Germany and Vice-President of Eurojust, Mr Klaus Meyer-Cabri.
The main area of discussion was Eurojust’s role in fighting terrorism and cybercrime. The Ambassador thanked Eurojust especially for its involvement in the judicial follow-up of the Berlin Christmas market terrorist attack and stressed the ever-growing importance of EU and international judicial cooperation.
The Ambassador then met with the members of the German Desk, where he was given insight into the casework of the Desk.
During his distinguished career in the German Diplomatic Service, Ambassador Brengelmann served as NATO’s Head of Defence and Security Policy Division and Commissioner for International Cyber Policy before being appointed German Ambassador to Brazil. In August 2016, he was appointed Ambassador to the Netherlands.
