The Ambassador of Hungary to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, H.E. Mr András Kocsis, paid a courtesy visit to Eurojust on 10 October 2016.
Accompanied by Mr Péter István Danku, Consul and Third Secretary to the Embassy of Hungary, Ambassador Kocsis met with the President of Eurojust, Ms Michèle Coninsx, and the National Member for Hungary, Mr László Venczl. Eurojust’s role in fighting organised crime and terrorism was discussed, with special attention paid to Eurojust’s involvement in combatting illegal immigrant smuggling occurring in the Hungarian section of the so-called Balkan route.
The Ambassador then met with the members of the Hungarian Desk, where he was given insight into the casework of the Desk.
Ambassador Kocsis began his professional career in the Hungarian Diplomatic Service in 2003, and has served in Hungary and Kenya. Before being appointed Ambassador, Mr Kocsis served as the Deputy Head of Mission to the Netherlands from 2012 to 2015.
