On 15 November, Ms Michèle Coninsx, President of Eurojust, hosted a visit of approximately 80 international students. The visit, on the initiative of the Municipality of The Hague, was in the framework of World Class The Hague, which connects students studying in The Hague with prominent leaders in international relations, security, peace and justice.
The students were accompanied by Mr Willem Post, International Advisor to Mayor Van Aartsen and Deputy Mayor Van Engelshoven, acting as moderator, and Messrs Pepijn Zaagman and Martin Born of the City Diplomacy Service.
Ms Coninsx gave a speech on the theme of peace and global justice, speaking about Eurojust’s role, activities and added value, as well as providing insight into her own career, followed by an extensive question and answer session.
World Class The Hague’s one-year programme includes attending a series of master classes to learn what The Hague has to offer as the City of Peace and Justice. Students come from Leiden University’s Campus The Hague, the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS), The Hague University and Inholland University.
