On 1 December, Ms Charlotte Svensson, State Secretary to Sweden’s Minister for Home Affairs, H.E. Anders Ygeman, visited Eurojust. She met with Mr Ladislav Hamran, Vice-President of Eurojust and National Member for the Slovak Republic, and Mr Leif Görts, National Member for Sweden, as well as the members of the Swedish Desk. She engaged in discussions regarding Eurojust’s role in bolstering the interior security of the Member States by aiding in the combatting of cybercrime, financial crime, illegal immigrant smuggling and terrorism.
Ms Svensson was accompanied by Ms Anna-Carin Svensson, Director-General for International Affairs, and Ms Lisa Bjuggstam, Minister Counsellor for Political Affairs.
Ms Svensson, who studied law at Stockholm University and Lund University, served previously as a chief administrative officer for the City of Stockholm, State Secretary to the Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs, and political advisor to the Prime Minister. Prior to assuming the role of State Secretary to the Minister for Home Affairs, Ms Svensson also served as the State Secretary to the Minister for Finance, H.E. Magdalena Andersson.
