On 5 October, a delegation from the Centre des Hautes Études du Ministère de l’Intérieur (CHEMI) visited Eurojust.
The delegation of twenty-one high-ranking officers from the French army and the French police was hosted by Eurojust’s President, Ms Michèle Coninsx, and Eurojust’s Assistant to the National Member for France, Mr Cyril Lacombe. The Head of the delegation was CHEMI’s Director, Mr Jean-Martin Jaspers.
Ms Coninsx provided the visitors with a general presentation on Eurojust and its role in the fight against terrorism, cybercrime and illegal immigrant smuggling, as well as recent organisational developments concerning Eurojust. Mr Lacombe gave a presentation of recent casework of the French Desk.
CHEMI is a service under the authority of the Secretary General of the Ministry of the Interior, the strategy of which is validated by a ministerial steering committee chaired by the Minister or his Chief of Staff. CHEMI is designed to complement and consolidate the knowledge of civilian and military managers of the Ministry. Each year, more than 1 000 senior executives and experts participate in the work of CHEMI.
