Ms Michèle Coninsx, President of Eurojust, Ms Daniela Buruiană, National Member for Romania, Mr Han Moraal, National Member for the Netherlands, Mr Vincent Jamin, Head of the JITs Network Secretariat, and Ms Tatiana Jancewicz, Head of Sector at the Legal Service, hosted a visit of Former Members of the European Parliament Association (FMA) on 30 May.
The delegation of more than thirty former MEPs was headed by Mr Enrique Barón Crespo, President of the FMA, former President of the European Parliament and former MEP for Spain, and included former MEPs from the UK, Germany, Latvia, France, Bulgaria, Hungary, and the Netherlands. The Association was invited for a two-day visit to governmental and EU organisations by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the context of the Netherlands EU Presidency.
The Eurojust representatives provided an update regarding the new Eurojust Regulation and the latest organisational developments, insight into Eurojust’s casework and its role in judicial cooperation and coordination, including joint investigation teams. Participants were informed about Eurojust’s activities in the fight against cybercrime, illegal immigrant smuggling and terrorism.
The visit provided an opportunity for dynamic exchanges on a wide range of topics.
