On 2 June, Eurojust, together with the Netherlands Presidency of the European Union, held a strategic seminar in The Hague, Keys to cyberspace.
The strategic seminar brought together practitioners from 28 Member States, as well as representatives from Norway, Switzerland, the USA, Europol, the European Commission and the General Secretariat of the Council specialised in cybercrime to identify obstacles and find possible solutions to challenges encountered in investigations and prosecutions of cybercrime cases.
The strategic seminar combined presentations and discussions on Jurisdiction in cyberspace in relation to the Cloud, Cooperation with Internet Service Providers located in the USA and Encryption of Data. The last session of the strategic seminar focused on the EU Judicial Cybercrime Network. The Netherlands Presidency, together with Eurojust, presented the latest developments regarding the setting up of the Network.
The cybercrime experts welcomed this new Network, which will facilitate contact, exchange of best practice and relevant information with other practitioners.
The conclusions of the strategic seminar will be presented to the 11th meeting of the Consultative Forum of Prosecutors General and Directors of Public Prosecution of the Member States of the European Union, taking place today.
