Mr Patrick Ky, Executive Director of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), met with Michèle Coninsx, President of Eurojust, on 27 January.
On the meeting agenda at Eurojust were, among other topics, crisis management, the importance of coordinated actions to prevent and address cyber security threats in aviation, as well as conflict zones and aviation security.
Mr Ky, an acknowledged expert in civil aviation matters and an advocate of innovation and change in air traffic control, has been in his current role at EASA since September 2013.
Prior to coming to Eurojust, Ms Coninsx worked for nine years for the International Civil Aviation Organisation, responsible for counter-terrorism relating to aircraft sabotage and hijacking. Ms Coninsx participated in a session on security in travel at the Governors Policy Meeting for Aviation and Travel at the World Economic Forum in Davos on 21 January.
Eurojust and EASA plan to work closely in the future on topics of common interest.
