On 8 February, Eurojust received a delegation from the Committee on Legal Affairs of the European Parliament (JURI Committee). The delegation, headed by MEP Ms Heidi Hautala, was composed of MEPs Ms Julia Reda and Ms Joëlle Bergeron and representatives of the Secretariat of the JURI Committee.
The aim of the visit was to become acquainted with the operational work of Eurojust and Eurojust’s role in judicial cooperation and coordination in the fight against serious organised crime.
The coordination tools available to Eurojust, i.e. coordination meetings, coordination centres and joint investigation teams, were illustrated by successful cases.
Eurojust was represented by its President, the National Member for Belgium, Ms Michèle Coninsx; the National Member for Germany and Chair of the Eurojust Brussels Team, Mr Klaus Meyer-Cabri; the National Member for Finland, Ms Piia Vottonen; and the Assistant to the National Member for France, Mr Cyril Lacombe.
The delegation had the opportunity to ask questions during an interactive debate.
