The nominee for the next Commissioner of the revised portfolio of Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality, Ms Vĕra Jourová, a leading member of the Czech Republic’s ANO Party and currently minister for local development, today gave a statement before the European Parliament in support of her nomination. Ms Jourová outlined her plans and mentioned her background before answering a number of often challenging questions from MEPs, including questions relating to Eurojust and the proposed EPPO.
On 21 October, the final vote on college confirmation by the European Parliament will take place in Strasbourg, followed by a final vote on college confirmation by the European Council in Brussels on 23 October. The European Parliament website dedicated to the hearings can be found here.
