On 1 September, Eurojust hosted the visit of Mr Pieter Cloo, Secretary General of the Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice. Mr Cloo was accompanied by Mr Nicholas Franssen and Ms Caroline Taets, both Counsellors at the Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice.
The delegation was welcomed by Ms Michèle Coninsx, President of Eurojust, in the presence of Mr Han Moraal, National Member for the Netherlands.
The meeting was attended by Mr Francisco Jiménez-Villarejo, Vice-President and National Member for Spain, Mr Klaus Rackwitz, Administrative Director, Ms Jolien Kuitert, Deputy National Member for the Netherlands, and Mr Jacques Vos, Head of Corporate Services and Programme Manager – New Premises Eurojust.
The objective of the meeting was to discuss topics of common interest, such as the legislative developments with regard to the reform of Eurojust, the operational activities of Eurojust, and the preparations for the new Eurojust premises in The Hague.
The Secretary General also met with a representative from the Information Management Unit to discuss ICT developments, and with the Dutch National Desk.
At the conclusion of the visit, Mr Cloo stressed the essential role of Eurojust in European and worldwide judicial cooperation.
