HE Ms Baiba Broka, Latvian Minister of Justice, visited Eurojust on 8 April 2014 in the context of a study visit hosted by Mr Gunārs Bundzis, National Member for Latvia.
The Minister met Ms Michèle Coninsx, President of Eurojust, and discussed the operational work as well as the future development of Eurojust in light of the steps taken by the European Commission, the European Council and the European Parliament to reform Eurojust. The establishment of a European Public Prosecutor’s Office from Eurojust and possible synergies were also addressed during the meeting. Ms Coninsx commented: ‘I very much appreciated the visit of HE Ms Broka and her delegation. We seized this occasion for an interactive and thorough exchange on the future developments of Eurojust. Latvia will hold the EU Presidency in the first semester of 2015 and the opportunity to meet with leading decision makers in Justice is of utmost importance in these crucial times of legislative movements which will have a substantial impact on Eurojust and its work.'
